Amid Corona crisis, Ministry of Education issued guidelines for the promotion of education for school children.
New Delhi. The Union Ministry of Education on Wednesday issued Education Promotion Guidelines for students, which include measures like setting up helpline services in community centers with the help of community members and members of Panchayati Raj. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank issued education promotion guidelines here. On the occasion, the Minister said that at the present time during the Kovid-19 epidemic, the institutions under the Ministry have worked together and have tried to provide schooling at home to children using digital mediums. He said that these guidelines also envisage setting up helpline service in community centers with the help of community members and members of Panchayati Raj.
It has also been advised to make parents aware of the system so that they can help their children learn and get involved. On the instruction of the Ministry of Education, NCERT has prepared education promotion guidelines for the students in the current state of the epidemic and also for the post-epidemic situation. The Minister said that these guidelines, models have been suggested for the following three types of situations. First, in which students do not have any digital resources available. Second, in which students have limited digital resources available. Third, in which students have digital resources available for online education.
The minister said that in these guidelines, emphasis has been laid on the community working closely with the school to provide teaching material like workbooks, work sheets etc. to the children at their home by teachers and volunteers. It also suggests teaching local students by volunteers or teachers, installing television in community centers, and following social distance norms.
