Security forces get huge success in Kashmir, three terrorists including Lashkar commander killed
Srinagar. Three militants, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, were killed in two separate encounters with security forces in Kashmir . Police said a terrorist was killed in Shopian. At the same time, two terrorists, including Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Naseeruddin Lone, were killed in an encounter in Kupwara. Lone was involved in the killing of six CRPF personnel earlier this year. A police official said that confidential information about the hideout of militants was received in Chitagam village of Shopian, based on which the security forces conducted a siege and search operation there.
During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire, after which the encounter started. He said that one terrorist was killed in retaliatory firing. The official said that the identity of the terrorist and the organization was not known yet. An army spokesman said the operation was over. A pistol, six bullets, a UBGL, four Chinese grenades were recovered from the encounter site, which were destroyed on the spot. Meanwhile, another encounter took place between militants and security forces in the Handwara area of Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
A police officer said that the encounter took place in Ganipora Kralgund area of Handwara. Two terrorists were killed in it. Kashmir Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said one of the slain terrorists was Naseeruddin Lone who was involved in the killing of three CRPF personnel in Sopore on April 18 and the same number of CRPF personnel in Handwara on May 4.
