UP Congress chief Raj Babbar demanded resignation of CM Yogi Adityanath over Saharanpur hooch deaths
Lucknow: UP Congress chief Raj Babbar on Saturday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after death figures in Saharanpur hooch tragedy touched 50.
He said, "The law and order situation is constantly deteroriating and liquor mafia is having no holds barred in the state but CM Yogi Adityanath seems to be least bothered. Congress party demands his resignation on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh."
Its significant that death toll owing to consumption of spurious liquor in Nagal police station area of Saharanpur district has gone to 50 on Saturday afternoon. Several villagers fell ill and were taken to the hospital after they consumed the liquor two days back resulting to 20 deaths till Friday morning but it touched 50 on Saturday afternoon.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh to the family members of the deceased and ₹50,000 to those undergoing treatment.
