Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today refused to grant permission to BJP taking out ‘rath yatra’ tomorrow, citing an intelligence report fearing communal disharmony.

Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty set aside the saffron party’s appeal after a day-long hearing in a tense court-room, saying it would not be appropriate to give green light to take out ‘rath yatra’ at this juncture keeping in mind the security arrangement in 42 constituencies the rally will travel.

The bench will hear the case again on January 9.

Justice Chakraborty sought report on security arrangement from police superintendents and district magistrates of all 42 districts.

As the court opened today, advocate general Kishore Dutta submitted reports of Coochbehar district and intelligence in a sealed envelope before the bench.
