Probable Playing XI Team India Squad
After winning the first test against West Indies in emphatic fashion, India has retained the same side for the 2nd Test against the West Indies in Hyderabad on October 12. India, who wrapped up the first Test match within three days beat West Indies by an innings and 272 runs. This was also Indiaâs biggest victory margin in the Tests. With the tour of Australia coming up soon, certain media reports had suggested that the team management would be keen to give an opportunity to some of the reserve players in the squad. Players like Mayank Agarwal, who have been remarkable in the domestic circuit, were itching to have a go for the Indian team but it looks like they will have to wait a bit more for their turn.

Probable playing XI for India vs West Indies 2nd Test
With Indiaâs regular openers Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan misfiring for a while, it is time for India to review its opening pair. Both Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw, who are at the back of a brilliant domestic season, have been knocking on the doors of the Indian team for a long time. While Prithvi Shaw got a call-up in the India vs West Indies 1st Test, the team management has decided to stick with KL Rahul as Shawâs opening partner.
With one eye on the tour of Australia, which begins next month, India is looking to test out the out-of-form batsmen like KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane. Earlier on Wednesday, Indiaâs bowling coach Bharat Arun had also hinted at playing Rahul in the 2nd Test even though the opener failed to make the most of his opportunity in the first test. Rahul was dismissed in the fourth ball of the 1st Test without scoring any runs.
This means that Mayank Agarwal will have to wait longer for his international debut and will be hoping to be called in for the tour Down Under. There were also reports that hinted at resting the skipper for the 2nd Test but it looks like he will be taking part in the India vs West Indies 2nd Test. Virat Kohli, who sat out the Asia Cup, scored his 24th century in Indiaâs only innings in the 1st Test in Rajkot.
With India sticking to the same squad, players like Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul will get another opportunity to prove their worth as they will take the field on Friday alongside Cheteshwar Pujara and the in-form Rishabh Pant. The rest of the team looks the same with Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja getting some much-needed practice. Since Indiaâs first choice bowlers Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are out injured, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami will get another opportunity to prove their potential ahead of Indiaâs tour of Australia.
