Government school asks students not to bring plastic materials to schools

With the State Government banning the use of plastic materials from January 1, 2019, the Government Girls Higher Secondary School on Gandhiji Road has told students not to bring plastic materials inside the school premises. Use of plastic materials inside the government and private schools were banned by the government and schools were asked to conduct awareness campaigns. Headmistress Suganthi said that there were 1,400 students studying from Class 6 to 12 in the school and awareness campaigns were conducted for the students on the ill-affects of plastic materials. The school management had asked the students not to bring plastic water cans, beverage bottles, snacks in plastic boxes or carry bags inside the premises and warned that they would be seized. Hence, NSS students were asked to check the bags of students while they enter the premises from Thursday.
