8 MP wushu players in Team India camp
Eight outstanding players of Madhya Pradesh have been selected in Indian team camp to participate in the forthcoming 7th World Junior Wushu Championship to be organised in Brazil from July 10 to 17. Training camp of Indian Wushu team is being organised in Bhopal from May 15.Madhya Pradesh Wushu Association, Technical Director, Manoj Gupta informed that the 7th World Junior Wushu Championship would be organised in Brazil. Madhya Pradesh’s eight players, including Anshita Pandey, Tanya Jatav, Sparsh Khare, Krishnika Gupta (Jabalpur), Nandini Verma (Ashok Nagar), Shruti Sarvaiyya, Himanshu Vishwakarma and Vishal Raghuvanshi (SAI Bhopal) have been selected to participate in Indian team camp.Besides this, Vishwamitra Award recipient, Sarika Gupta has been appointed as coach of Indian team during the training camp.
It may be noted that a large number of players trained under the guidance of Sarika Gupta have already represented Indian teams in different international competitions and won medals for the country. On the achievement of players and coach, Indian Wushu Association, President, Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, Secretary, Sohail Ahmed, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Madhya Pradesh, S L Thousan, N K Tripathi (retired IPS), Inspector General of Police, Jaideep Prasad, Sports Authority of India, Regional Director, Rajender Singh, Dr Jitendra Jamdar and others congratulated them and wished for success in international competition.
