No power on earth can separate J&K from India: Raina
SRINAGAR, May 16: Maintaining that J&K is an integral part of India, the newly appointed BJP State president, Ravinder Raina today said that no power on earth can separate it from us.
Addressing a party function in Srinagar, after his appointment as State president by Party national president, Amit Shah on May 12, Raina said that only dispute with Pakistan is on the portion of J&K which has been forcibly occupied by it in 1947 and India is committed to joint Parliament resolution of 1994 in this regard. He said besides, PoK, Gilgit and Baltistan are also integral parts of India. “I as BJP present also represent the people of these regions”, he added.
The BJP State chief said that no compromise will be made on even a single inch of land of J&K which was, is and will remain integral part of India till this universe exists.
On Centre’s announcement of ceasefire during the holy month of Ramzan in Valley, Raina said that “from our side there will be no fire but it does not mean that our forces will not retaliate if they are fired upon by militants. Under these circumstances the forces are free to return the fire”, he added.
In response to a question that Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) has rejected the unilateral ceasefire announced by Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh today, Raina said that they will be given a befitting reply in case they don’t accept this humanist approach and “our forces will reply them in the same language which they understand.”
He said the ceasefire is good but if any one targets security forces they will return the fire and not count that how many bullets are fired by them in retaliation.
Maintaining that India is the largest democracy in the world he said “we don’t like bloodshed, mess and chaos but if any one indulges in bloodshed he has to face the worst consequences for it”.
Lauding the role of Indian Army and paramilitary forces, Raina said they are the saviours of people as Indian Army is the most disciplined and dedicated force in the world. “Had the Indian army not been there the terrorists and Hurriyat would have butchered the innocent people of Kashmir so we should feel proud of Indian Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB and J&K Police who performed a yeoman’s service towards the nation”, he added.
Raina, while unfolding BJP’s Kashmir Mission in coming years said that lotus will bloom in Valley and day is coming when BJP will win seats in Kashmir also and form the Government on its own in the State.
He said the Muslims all over the country have come to know after seeing the Narendra Modi Government for four years and earlier the Vajpayee rule for six years that the BJP is the only party which can do justice to Muslims of the country and for them “we are not untouchables now”.
Raina said he will work for strengthening the party in all three regions and restore people’s confidence in it in Kashmir Valley also.
Later Raina convened the meeting of BJP Ministers here and asked them that the honesty and transparency should be the hallmark of their functioning. He also asked them to prepare a road map for their concerned ministries and fix the target for the completion of projects besides maintaining a complete liaison with party workers and people so that the masses will feel the difference between the other parties and BJP.
Earlier Raina was given a warm welcome by party activists at Srinagar Airport after his arrival from New Delhi and they took him in the cavalcade of vehicles to party office and garlanded him.
