JBDC's small business expo on today at Jamaica Pegasus Hotel
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Yello Media is the title sponsors for the 11th Annual Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) Small Business Expo and Conference on today at the Jamaica Pegasus, New Kingston.
The Expo, which this year is being held under the theme, The Business Anatomy: Exploring the Hidden Parts, is part of the JBDC's push to foster the consistent and sustainable development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Jamaica.
“As we embark on this milestone event, the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) takes this opportunity to reiterate its commitment to the sustainable and consistent development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jamaica,” the JBDC said in a release on the Expo, which comes just weeks after the JMA's Expo at the National Arena.
Yello's Director of Marketing Tshani Jaja commented that the Small Business Expo is a commendable and much needed forum to truly engage the MSME sector, and further educate them on ways in which they can continue to grow their businesses”.
”We intend to use this platform to share with businesses marketing tools that they can use to expand their business both offline and online. Our team of expert consultants will be on-hand to help businesses better understand the advertising solutions that best suits their business objectives,” Jaja added.
The JBDC an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, was established in 2001, as the premier government agency providing business development services to Jamaican Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs).
From “Concept to Market”, the JBDC provides guidance for business start-ups and expansion, offering business advice and consultation, research services, business monitoring, training and capacity building, project management services, financial advice, design and product development as well as market penetration support and access.
It operates from corporate offices in Kingston and satellite locations in Mandeville, Montego Bay, Westmoreland, St Ann and the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus.
Technical support and incubation services for start-ups and established businesses are facilitated through the organisation's Incubator and Resource Centre (IRC) located on Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston.
