The new Nokia X6 is the brand’s first phone with a notch display; launched in China

HMD Global, the company that currently holds the right to manufacture and sell Nokia phones, had scheduled a launch event in China last month on April 27th. It was earlier being speculated that the brand might unveil a new smartphone series called the X-series and that it might introduce the 2018 variant of the classic Nokia X. The smartphone has been spotted in a number of leaks till now and there were a lot of speculations surrounding the same. Today, the brand has gone ahead and launched the Nokia X6 in China and put all speculations to rest.
The Nokia X6 comes with a 5.8-inch display with a full HD+ screen resolution, a cutout on top, and 19:9 aspect ratio. The performance of the smartphone is handled by Snapdragon 636 processor, which also powers the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro(review) and ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (review). The handset maker is offering the New Nokia X6 in three variants – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. For security, the smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock.
On the camera front, the Nokia X6 comes with a dual camera module on the rear panel with a 16MP primary camera accompanied by a 5MP secondary sensor. There is a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. The rear camera offers HDR + EIS for a better video recording experience. As is the case with other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia X6 is an Android One device, which means the handset comes with the latest stock Android 8.1 Oreo. Further, it will receive regular and frequent updates from Google before some of the other handsets in the market. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE connectivity, USB type-C, and FM. Lastly, a 3,060mAh battery completes the spec sheet of the smartphone.
HMD Global has priced the 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant of the Nokia X6 at RMB 1,299 (~Rs 13,800) and the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant at RMB 1,499 (~Rs 16,000). On the other hand, the 6GB RAM variant will retail for RMB 1,699 (~Rs 18,100). The reservations for the handset have already opened up in China via JD.com. The New Nokia X6 is available in black and white colour options, among others.
