RUSA meeting held

Minister for Higher & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along, accompanied by the state Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) project director, project officer, three principals of Govt Colleges and principal investigator of RUSA Nagaland R&I project, held a meeting with Ishita Roy, RUSA mission director & jt. secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of HRD, prof. Venkatesh Kumar B, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Suman Shukla, Senior Consultant (RUSA) at RUSA Resource Centre, Sri. Ram Centre for Arts & Culture, New Delhi on May 14, 2018.Â New Delhi Nagaland House PRO, through a press release said that the meeting discussed the successful implementation of various projects in the state under RUSA phase 1. The minister shared his vision for Nagaland as an education and research hub, not only in the northeast but also at the national and international levels. He also highlighted the restraints and challenges faced by colleges in the state and requested special consideration under RUSA 2.0. The Ministry officials were impressed with the implementation of projects in RUSA 1.0 and assured the delegation that they would specially address the programmes and issues of the northeast. The officials also acknowledged the personal initiative taken by the State Higher & Technical Education minister and expressed full confidence in his leadership to achieve the vision.
